Intercultural Journeys, a nonprofit organization that seeks to promote peace through the arts, Drexel’s Richard C. Goodwin College of Professional Studies and Drexel’s Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design have organized an Arab-Israeli Town Hall-style summit of the arts titled: Hip-Hop, Harmonies and Hope: Shalom/Salaam. The evening will feature Arab and Israeli classical and folk performers alongside Syrian hip-hop artist Omar Offendum, dialogue by Arab and Israeli cultural leaders on building bridges between conflicted cultures, and Middle Eastern music performed by Drexel’s ensembles featuring ouds, bandirs and belly dancers.

Prior to the concert there will be a Middle Eastern-style reception at 6:30 PM featuring appetizers at the Mandell Theater (33rd & Market Sts.). At the conclusion of the performance a dessert reception will feature sweets provided by students in the Goodwin College’s Culinary Arts Program.
