The Chenrezig Tibetan Buddhist Center of Philadelphia is pleased to host for the second straight year Netherlands artist and teacher Carmen Mensink, for a series of instructional workshops November 12th through December 5th, on the art and craft of Tibetan Buddhist imagery and thangka painting. This remarkable series of classes and workshops--ten in all--will be offered over five weeks. Events will include slideshows and talks about the art and symbolism of thangka paintings, as well as hands-on drawing and painting workshops in which students will experience this beautiful, meditative form of art first hand. This first evening will feature an in-depth class on the art and meaning of Thangka Artwork, including a slideshow, talk and Q&A.
