    Karen S. Davies' "Recent Work" is a wonderful expression of mixed media artwork. "My work is inherently inspired by the landscape, which can be elusive and mysterious. I try to capture these qualities in my work and, with that, sometimes humanity’s struggle to contain or explain the natural world. I use a thick impasto of materials built up to convey the materiality of rock and earth, then add the glitter of reflected light and the pattern of water running through the landscape. Occasionally I will overlap everything with simple geometries, a token of our human influence in the world."--Karen S. Davies
