This two-day course trains participants in the process of tree risk assessment. Those who successfully complete this course will be accredited as Certified Tree Risk Assessors and will meet current industry standards. Unlike other tree risk workshops, it is expected that this certification will be grandfathered into the International Society of Arboriculture’s developing international tree risk assessment standard. This training course should be attended by practitioners who work in areas where risk assessment is requested to fulfill municipal, regional, provincial, or insurance company requirements. These areas include municipal or regional parks, golf courses, other public land, development and construction sites, utility corridors, highways, railways, rapid transit rights of way, riparian corridors, bicycle and hiking trails, greenways, and all private lands. The combination of classroom lectures and field work includes modules on tree biology, structural mechanics, risk theory and practice, reading tree conditions, assessing and assigning risk levels, and prescribing risk mitigation strategies. This course carries 11 CEUs for ISA arborists.  Instructor James Flott & Julian Dunster Instructors in TRACE training for the Pacific North West Chapter of the ISA
