For preschoolers & kindergarten students and their parents/adult caregivers Focus on Graphic Novels and Narrative Arts Preschoolers and kindergarten students join an adult caregiver in this popular intergenerational program, exploring art and literature-based museum experiences. Weekly gallery lessons that are focused on verbal development and visual awareness are coupled with studio art activities that focus on imagination, creativity, and self-expression. Students become experts while looking at art, talking about art, and making art. They are exposed to a variety of art materials, techniques, processes, and new ideas. There is an endless amount of exploration and creativity that happens at an art museum! Families are encouraged to register for this class for the entire year; many families attend for three years, before their children head off to first grade! Preregistration preference for the winter session is given to families who enroll in the fall. Open registration for the winter session begins November 20.
