Denial
October 1-October 16, 2010
In his 1995 play, Denial, Peter Sagal presents the story of a Jewish civil rights attorney who is asked by the ACLU to defend the rights of a Holocaust denier whose papers have been seized by the federal government for promoting violence. Abby Gersten's "religion" is the law, but her client tests her faith as she learns that justice has its own price. Denial explores the dilemma faced by Holocaust survivors and others who seek to make sure the world never for gets when confronted with those who would prove that what they experienced never occurred, and is also an engrossing legal drama that examines the moral and ethical dilemmas inherent in the First Amendment.
