OUTDOORS

Meet Colonial Farm Animals
September 11, 2010
Our livestock represent Colonial breeds, some rare (just short of endangered and no longer used on modern farms): Dorset Horned Sheep, Blue Hens, Dominique Chickens, Guinea Hens, Iron Age and Tamworth Pigs (and their very cute piglets), Belgian Draft Horse and Red Devon Milking Cow (with horns). Experience living history with authentically costumed interpreters engaged in activities of everyday Colonial life in this 1700s farmhouse, farm, kitchen garden, orchard and outbuildings. Bring a blanket and picnic basket and enjoy the shade of one of the huge Black Walnut trees if you like, or use one of the picnic tables!
