Metropolis
October 25, 2010
BMFI is proud to bring you this most recent, comprehensive restoration of Fritz Lang’s silent sci-fi spectacle—including 25 minutes of lost footage. Venture into a futuristic city divided between the wealthy managers and the oppressed worker drones courtesy of the innovative special effects and iconic imagery that influenced subsequent classics of the genre, such as Star Wars and Blade Runner. This film is shown in conjunction with a Cinema Classics Seminar and will be introduced by its instructor, BMFI Director of Education, Andrew J. Douglas, Ph.D.
