Tom LaDuke: Run Generator
October 23, 2010-March 6, 2011
Continuing the Morris Gallery series of exhibitions by emerging artists, PAFA is proud to present recent paintings by Tom LaDuke. An artist who has been receiving a lot of attention for the rigorous craft and conceptual complexity he brings to his work, over the past few years LaDuke has been developing a series of painted works that are marked by a sense of phantom presence that is both visually compelling and intellectually forceful. Centered around Sharp, Distance (2010), a recent addition to PAFA’s collection, the paintings in the exhibition employ ideas about abstraction and representation in complex images where filmic and art historical references are intriguingly interwoven.
