Honey bees were essential to the Colonists and, then, to the newly born Nation. Visitors can examine an 18th Century Bee Skep (safely, of course) tour a carefully replicated 18th Century Bee Hive, and make Honey Candy and Bees Wax Candles! Afterwards, everyone is invited to learn about 21st Century threats to bees and pollination with a professional Bee Keeper. Attendees will discover how to safely nurture these treasures to the ecosystem, start your own pollinator yard, and join in replacing numerous honey bees recently lost to colony disease, so local farmers can provide us with bounteous harvests in years to come.
