Families are invited to the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation to come meet colonial farm animals!  Animals include Dorset Horned Sheep, Blue Hens, Dominique Chickens, Guinea Hens, Iron Age and Tamworth Pigs (and very cute piglets), a Belgian Draft Horse and Red Devon Milking Cow (a cow with horns!). The livestock are representative of breeds kept during Colonial times. Some are rare (one step up from endangered), and they are not used for modern agricultural or livestock purposes. Visitors can also tour the 1700s living history farmhouse, farm, kitchen garden, orchard and outbuildings and converse with authentically costumed interpreters going about everyday colonial tasks. Picnic lunches are encouraged!
