Randall Exon, represented by New York’s Hirschl & Adler Modern gallery, is a full professor of studio art at nearby Swarthmore College. In his luminous, representational paintings of landscapes and figures in the landscape, Exon evokes realistic places; though most of his paintings are fictions conjured from personal experience and memory and from collected sources. This exhibit, on display in October and November 2010, will challenge the viewer to consider: how does art describe our environment?
