Theater is the most collaborative of the arts! Lighting, scenery, and costume design are all integral parts of the creative process of moving a play from the page to the stage. Participants will attend two professional productions in Philadelphia: Ghost-Writer and The Threepenny Opera (both at the Arden Theater at 7 pm). Participants will discover how designers use the script, the theater space, color, texture and other design elements to help bring a play to life. Discussion topics will range from the history of theater in ancient Greece to present-day set design, all while exploring the exciting world of theater! The course fee includes entry to both performances.
