    This seminar is co-sponsored with the Association of Professional Landscape Designers. A day of inspiration, vision, and top-notch information for anyone interested in sustainability and how it can be more effectively integrated into home landscapes! This seminar will be an excellent learning opportunity for new and avid gardeners, as well as landscape design professional. Edgar David will demystify restoration ecology. A former professor in the landscape architecture program at Temple University he has a design build practice focusing on sustainable design. Edmund Snodgrass, who started the first green roof nursery in the United States and is owner and president of Emory Knoll Farms Inc. and Green Roof Plants in Maryland will discuss greening the roofs of our communities. A tour of a green roof will allow a first-hand look at Swarthmore's early adoption of the practice. Paul Van Meter, an accomplished landscape gardener, will inspire and encourage with his presentation on creating gorgeous sustainable design. Larry Weaner of Larry Weaner Landscape Associates, long famous for award-winning ornamental horticulture focusing almost exclusively on natives, will present native plant composition, through the perspectives of space and time. Bring your own lunch, although light refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Limited to 50.
