Take the mystery out of woody seed propagation with Shelley Dillard, who has been the propagator for the Morris Arboretum for over 20 years, overseeing their propagation of wild collected documented seeds. In this class you will learn the best strategies for overcoming dormancy with woody plant seeds. Several examples of prime woody plants for the garden will be used including those that are easy to propagate as well as more challenging ones. Strategies will be shared on how to get the challenging ones to germinate more readily. After this class you will also be more comfortable with looking up and using the best resources to continue learning about successful seed propagation. What to do when the seeds come out of stratification will be covered as well. There will be plenty of time for your specific questions and seed interests. Limited to 20.
