OUTDOORS

Workshop: Nature Journaling
September 25, 2010
In this class Elizabeth Haegele will explore the many forms of journaling, from illustrations to poetry to leaf pressing, while focusing on the most important ingredient in successful nature journaling: the art of observation. You will engage in several exercises to help fine-tune your observation skills in nature and then you will have the opportunity to begin your own nature journal, one that can last through your lifetime as a record of all that you have learned and experienced from nature. Elizabeth, Urban Forestry Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, is an avid nature journal writer. Her recent six-month hike through the Appalachian Mountains was enhanced and made more meaningful by the act of creating a daily journal. Please dress for time outside.
