The ascendant California violinist Jennifer Frautschi known for her “lush, florid tone and sure musical sense” (Kansas City Star) teams up with two local luminaries—Philadelphia Orchestra associate principal cellist Efe Baltacigil and pianist and Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia conductor laureate Ignat Solzhenitsyn—for a Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts event. Shining a light from France to Russia, the trio’s pan-European program features Igor Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne and Duo Concertante alongside a pair of pieces by Shostakovich: the Piano Sonata No. 1, Op. 12 and the Piano Trio in C Minor, Op. 8. This event is part of the 2011 Philadelphia International Festival Of The Arts (PIFA).
