For more than half a century, the New York Wind Quintet has defined great wind playing in the United States. The all-star group of Carol Wincenc, flute; Stephen Taylor, oboe; Charles Neidich, clarinet; Marc Goldberg, bassoon; and William Purvis, horn makes a triumphant return to Philadelphia with a program of works by classic composers (Mozart, Beethoven) and modern masters (Elliott Carter, Irving Fine) alike.
