Schedule time for your child to play in the mud this summer! Do you have a budding artist that is looking for a totally unique experience this summer? The Clay Studio, Philadelphia's premier ceramic arts non-profit, has the solution, Clay Camp! Have you ever wondered how movies like The Nightmare before Christmas, Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit were made? Then join Jill Allen and resident artist, Amy Santoferraro in Claymation Camp. Spend part of the day learning how to create, storyboard, and animate cut-out and clay characters using the art of stop-motion animation with paper, clay and craft materials. The other part of the day will be spent making permanent action figures and props that you can keep. Students will develop storylines, supply voices for characters, and by the end of the week, the group will have created at least one animated short film. The movie will be edited and a will be provided to each camper along with their fired action figures and props.
