Move from doodles to detailed drawings with the Delaware College of Art and Design’s special workshop, “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.” The three-day workshop will be held Aug. 13, 14 and 15. Offered in a nurturing environment, the course is designed specifically for students who have never drawn before. Using the techniques based on the work of Betty Edwards, author of the renowned book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, instructor Linda Jo Russell will guide participants through a step-by-step process, combining lecture and studio exercises. The workshop begins with introduction to theory and throughout the course students will develop their perceptual skills through exercises focusing on contour lines, positive/negative space, sighting and light/shadow relationships. Lunch breaks will be scheduled, so students may bring their lunch to class. A supply list will be provided after registration.
