Families are invited to bring their swimsuits and old shoes because wet is the theme for this special day at the Plantation. Pirates will attack the house in a child-friendly manner and take it over for the day. Youngsters will be encouraged to run the maze and the gauntlet as pirates try to stop them with water. There will be foot races, face painting, rubber ducky races in the creek and a water balloon toss. The pirates will attack at 12:30 pm and control the farm until the local militia repulses them at 3:30 pm. Bring the family and enjoy old-fashioned fun that has nothing to do with technology--just nature, water, and your imagination. Refreshments and souvenirs may also be purchased. Sorry, no credit cards accepted. The Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation is an independent non-profit 18th century living history farm museum located within Ridley Creek State Park. It is most easily reached via the park’s Route 3 entrance just west of Newtown Square. Visit www.colonialplantation.org to learn more about this and other events.
