Celebrating five years as the area’s largest environmental event, GreenFest Philly announces its third year in the South Street Headhouse Square District. Each year more than 20,000 people attend this free one-day street fair. Highlighting everything from sewing buttons to buying second hand to purchasing a sustainable wardrobe, this year’s theme is fashion. Featuring a fashion show and clothing swap, the event will emphasize the importance of supporting our local thrift stores, buying organic fabrics, and recycling your closet. Attendees can about how easy it is to remove that nasty stain without using harsh chemicals, how to turn a torn T-shirt into a fabulous scarf, and how simple it is to be fashionably eco-conscious. There will also be more than 200 exhibitors, vegetarian food, live music and entertainment, kids activities, green contests, the eco exchange fashion show and clothing swap and an eco-film forum.
