Sepulchre Sculpture
May 2, 2009
Laurel Hill's unique establishment as an outdoor sculpture gallery remains highlighted by the view that still greets visitors today, the sandstone sculptural group Old Mortality and His Pony. This work and other monuments were actually exhibited as artworks prior to their placement in the Cemetery. Join Friends of Laurel Hill to unveil the intertwining stories of the deceased, their monuments, and some of their creators. This walking tour will take place on Saturday, May 2nd at 2:00pm. The tour will be guided by Amanda J. Sisk, figurative sculptor, teacher, and Development & Programs Coordinator at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
