Camelot
March 19-March 21, 2009
Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's Camelot remains one of the most recognizable plays of the musical theatre canon. Adapted from T.H. White's immensely popular The Once And Future King, the classic story of King Arthur, Queen Guenevere, and Sir Lancelot takes on new life as questions of love, loyalty and friendship test the foundation upon which their Round Table was built. Camelot became synonymous with the idealism of the Kennedy administration nearly a half century ago, yet with a recognizable score featuring such well-known standards as ''If Ever I Would Leave You'' and ''The Simple Joys Of Maidenhood'', this re-imagining of the Arthurian legend remains just as topical and heart-wrenching today.
