Lincoln's Words, with Douglas Wilson
June 3, 2009
Dr. Wilson, project scholar for 21st-Century Abe and author of Lincoln's Sword: The Presidency and the Power of Words, will make the case that Lincoln's facility with words, especially the written word, is as important in the scheme of things as his ability as a political leader. Not only was he as great a writer as he was a statesman, his great success as a statesman would not have been possible without his ability as a writer. Dr. Wilson is the co-director of the Lincoln Studies Center at Knox College and a two-time winner of the Lincoln prize for Honor's Voice (1998) and Lincoln's Sword (2007). Please RSVP here: fdawson@rosenbach.org Space is limited.
