    Widow of the late Egyptian president and Nobel Peace Prize-winner Anwar Sadat, Jehan Sadat is a devoted activist for women's rights, literacy, and humanitarian causes worldwide. She organized the movement to reform Egyptian civil rights laws, founded the Arab-African Women's League, and has continued her late husband's quest for peace. She is a senior fellow at the University of Maryland, where she endowed the Anwar Sadat Chair for Peace and Development. Her previous book was the bestselling autobiography A Woman of Egypt.
