Daniel Mendelsohn | C.P. Cavafy: The Unfinished Poems and Collected Poems
April 7, 2009
Renowned classics scholar Daniel Mendelsohn is the author of The Elusive Embrace, a New York Times Notable Book, and The Lost: A Search for Six of Six Million, an international bestseller that won the National Book Critics Circle Award. Following more than a decade of work and study, and with the exclusive cooperation of the Cavafy Archive in Athens, Mendelsohn presents new translations of the poems of Constantine P. Cavafy (1863-1933). Considered one of the greatest modern Greek poets, Cavafy's sensual and philosophical poems are inspired by Mediterranean history and Hellenic myth.
