Anne Michaels | The Winter Vault
April 30, 2009
Anne Michaels's first novel, Fugitive Pieces, won the Lannan Literary Award, the Orange Prize for Fiction, the Guardian First Book Award, and was recently adapted into a major motion picture. She is also the author of three highly-acclaimed collections of poems, The Weight of Oranges, Miner's Pond, and Skin Divers. The Winter Vault--her first novel in more than a decade--is a love story that juxtaposes historical events with the intimate moments of individual lives. According to the Globe and Mail, ''Michaels can be compared with A.S. Byatt or Michael Ondaatje.''
