Noted science fiction author Samuel R. Delany is director of the graduate creative writing program at Temple University's College of Liberal Arts. The author of more than twenty influential novels, including Dhalgren, the Return to Nevèrÿon series, and two Nebula Award Best Novels of the Year, Babel-17 and The Einstein Intersection, Delany confronts themes of memory, isolation, and sexuality in his intellectually challenging books. Delany, whose work also encompasses memoir, literary criticism, and writing on gay life, was the subject of the documentary film The Polymath, or, The Life and Opinions of Samuel R. Delany, Gentleman, which premiered at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.
