Presented on high-definition video monitors in incredibly crisp resolution, Robert Wilson's minimal video portraits examine performers and animals, revealing their every nuanced movement and gesture within specific narratives unique to each portrait. The exhibition includes stunning portrayals of artists such as Johnny Depp, Marianne Faithful and Brad Pitt--each demonstrating portraiture's ability to capture and reveal the character of its subject, and mixing it with the aesthetic and theatrics of classic cinema. Wilson also places animals within this same context.
