The children of a poor wood cutter, Hansel and Gretel are abandoned in the forest. They come upon a house made of ginger bread and candies. Hungry and unable to resist, they begin to eat it. The old woman who lives in the house invites them to enjoy a feast of candy, nuts, pancakes and other sweets. In turn, will they become the old women's feast?
