Founded in 1951 by the eminent Rudolf Serkin and the Busch and Moyse families, Marlboro Music is widely considered to be the world's leading center for advanced musical studies by professional musicians. Under the artistic direction of Richard Goode and Mitsuko Uchida, Marlboro's emphasis is on diverse chamber music, abundant rehearsal time and the pairing in ensembles of different generations of leading musicians. With uncompromising standards, Marlboro performances and the Marlboro community are acclaimed throughout the world. This evening's concert features Lily Francis, violin; Sarah Kapustin, violin; Julianne Lee, viola; Peter Wiley, cello; Pascal Archer, clarinet; Jennifer Monroe, bassoon; Radovan Vlatkovic, horn; and Jeffrey Beecher, double bass in a program of works by Nielsen, Kirchner and Schubert.
