Having announced its retirement at the completion of the 2008-09 season, the Guarneri Quartet presents its final Philadelphia performance on Friday, May 15 at the Perelman Theater. Founded at the Marlboro Music Festival in 1964, the Guarneri is a remarkable amalgam of diverse personalities. For this very special farewell concert, the quartet will be joined by its original cellist, the legendary David Soyer, for a program of works by Beethoven and Schubert.
