Emerson String Quartet
April 1, 2009
Drawing on inspiration from the great American poet and philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson, the Emerson String Quartet approaches each performance with an insight, enthusiasm, and technical mastery easily connected to its namesake. A mix of individual strengths, combined harmonies, and a true love of the music fuel Eugene Drucker (violin), Philip Setzer (violin), Lawrence Dutton (viola), and David Finckel (cello) through each piece, providing an experience to concert-goers which is at once challenging, beautiful, and uniquely rewarding. The quartet's second season appearance with PCMS features a program of works by Haydn, Ades and Dvorak.
