In Conversation: Building a Permanent Collection
July 11, 2010
How do curators decide what new works a museum should acquire? Where do they get them? And how do they expand the story of their collection to include those new subjects? The public is invited to join Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Curators Bob Cozzolino and Julien Robson for a tour of some of PAFA's latest acquisitions on view in Summer Surprises: Selections from the Permanent Collection. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about artists who have recently joined the collection, like Mark Bradford, Kehinde Wiley, and Jules Kirschenbaum from the same curators who collected them.
