Tea on a Summer's Eve
December 31, 2069
Taking tea is a quintessentially English tradition as well as a culinary event. By the early 1900’s, the “smart hour” for afternoon tea was five o’clock or later. Tea parties became full-blown social occasions with footmen pouring the beverage of choice, servants delicately placing sweet confections on plates, and professional musicians entertaining the party with the ethereal sounds of classical music. Guests are asked to bring their favorite teacup and saucer with them to this tea. All other accoutrements will be provided to make for a perfect evening. Guests are encouraged to wear Victorian attire, if they wish.
