The all-day, all-night blowout lasts from 3pm on Saturday, June 19 until dawn on Sunday and showcases music, dance, performance, and activities for all ages and musical tastes. Family friendly fun begins early with the region’s charming Paisley Pickles; the Philadelphia Zoo’s traveling Zoo on Wheels; Please Touch Museum’s Play Patrol; and much more. As day turns to night, the music heats up. Highlights throughout the evening include ska group Jolly Rotten Skeletons; indie rising stars, Toy Soldiers; Brooklyn-based global groovers Tato Torres & Yerbabuena; an improv dating game with New York’s MEET Market; queen of hip hop Bahamadia, who returns to Philadelphia after an extended tour of Europe and Japan; the ever distinctive The ReBel Yell; a First Person Arts StorySlam, hosted by local man about town Victor Fiorillo and much more. A late night plaza party includes the electro, global, rhythmic beats of DJ Rahsaan and house beats by DJ Rob Paine. And the annual Drum Circle at dawn ends the evening and begins the summer with a big bang.
