Moore College of Art & Design welcomes art educators for Teachers Summer Institute 2010, an innovative professional development program with the theme of Recharge, Refocus, Reconnect. Focusing on finding inventive connections between personal studio practice, issues in modern art, and the teaching experience, the one-week residential program offers art teachers from across the region opportunities to learn new skills, hone artistic skills and discover how to use new media as a tool in the classroom.Under the guidance of exceptional teaching artists in painting, printmaking, ceramics, and photography, art educators are given the support and facilities to revitalize and advance their individual studio skills while collaborating with colleagues in designing inventive classroom applications. Curators from the Barnes Foundation will lead daily seminars dealing with issues in modern art and how to relate them to the issues of young people.
