Presented as part of the Philadelphia International GLBT Arts Festival: This June 10th and 12th, Erik Ransom's original, epic musical Coming will be presented as a staged concert reading, directed by Alexander Scott Rioh with music direction by Jacob Bremkamp and presented at the Cabaret Blackbox in the Arts Bank Building. Coming: A Musical of Biblical Proportions (Book, music and lyrics by Erik Ransom) Is a modern, darkly comedic look at the Biblical Book of Revelation in which the final battle between good and evil is waged on the music charts. Josh Crenshaw is an aspiring singer-songwriter with a message of love and hope to spread. Unwitting to the fact that he is also the reincarnation of Jesus Christ, Josh decides the best way to reach a larger audience with his music is by auditioning for American Icon. Meanwhile, the biggest star of the day, Damian Salt is a libertine, glam rock idol, and he has his own message to spread: his 'Religion is Vice'.
