FILM

Rashomon
August 10, 2010
Credited as the first film to successfully cross over from Japan to the West, Rashômon won the coveted Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 1950. The complicated murder at the heart of the film uses an elaborate flashback structure told through the eyes of four individuals that is guaranteed to keep you thinking long after the final credits roll. This film is part of Bryn Mawr Film Institute's Akira Kurosawa Retrospective film series. Presented with subtitles, it runs 1 hr 28 min.
