Chestnut Street Singers, a cooperative chamber chorus, will be giving its first concert in a celebration of vocal music and springtime. The program will include works both of and inspired by the Renaissance, featuring pieces by Clement Janequin (1485-1558), Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525-1594), and William Byrd (1539-1623), as well as contemporary complements by Knut Nystedt (1915-), George Shearing (1919-), and Nils Lindberg (1933-). Chestnut Street Singers consists of Maura Caldwell, Bimal Desai, Jen Hayman, Michael Johnson, Ken Olin, Joy Wiltenburg, Caroline Winschel, and Rick Womer.
