    The Takács Quartet was formed in 1975 at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest. In its 33rd season, the Takács have performed in virtually every music capital in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan. Also known for its award-winning recordings, the ensemble won the Grammy and the Gramophone Awards for Best Chamber Performance in 2002 for its two-CD set of Beethoven's three Rasumovsky String Quartets, Op. 59, and the Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 74, Harp. Quartet-in-residence at the University of Colorado since 1983, the ensemble is also a resident quartet at the Aspen Music Festival and School and associate artists of the South Bank Center in London.

    Renowned as a pianist and conductor, Jeffrey Kahane is recognized by audiences around the world for his mastery of diverse repertoire from Bach to Gershwin. He has established a reputation as a truly versatile artist equally sought after as a soloist, conductor, and chamber musician. Mr. Kahane is entering his 13th season as Music Director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and continues his successful tenure as Music Director of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.
