Depression. Drug use. Too much sex. Not enough. These writers have spilled ink and guts about all of it. Join them as they share their recent writings and talk (candidly, of course!) about what happens when you make your life an open book. Emily Gould, former Gawker editor and author of the new memoir And the Heart Says Whatever, has sparked controversy for her blunt talk about celebrity, her love life and the new media. Liz Spikol reveals personal demons and chronicles her struggles with mental illness on the blog The Trouble with Spikol, which started as a regular column in Philadelphia Weekly. Her upcoming book looks at bisexuality from a first hand perspective. Emily Steinberg exposed the details of her life in the illustrated diary Graphic Therapy on SmithMag.com. Media psychologist Judith Sills’ knows about dealing with private matters in public, having written about sex and relationships in her books Getting Naked Again and How to Stop Looking for Someone Perfect and from her gig as a contributor on the Today Show. She will honcho a discussion that invites audience sharing for those who are willing.
