    The author of modern and authoritative historical narratives, New York Times bestselling author Nathaniel Philbrick won the National Book Award in 2000 for In the Heart of the Sea, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Mayflower in 2007, and won the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award for Revenge of the Whale.
