 n and raised in Louisville\, Kentucky\, identical twins Chandra and Leigh 
 Watson have developed a style of indie folk that does more than nod to alt
 -country influences. Their Southern belle charm\, their close-knit harmoni
 es\, and their inclusion in the LA folk scene all combine to sell out venu
 es throughout California. Be sure to sign up for their free performance at
  this Friday's show before it is sold out as well.\nThe twins grew up in t
 he midst of Southern country and roots traditions\, then relocated to Cali
 fornia in the late '90s to establish a local band\, Slydell. At the same t
 ime\, they began to collaborate with some of the other well-known musician
 s in Silver Lake\, including Jenny Lewis. Collaborations with Rilo Kiley (
 the main project of Lewis) soon brought the sweet\, soulful vocals of the 
 two sisters to the attention of critics and fans alike.\nSince then\, The 
 Watson Twins have collaborated and released four albums. Their fifth relea
 se\, Talking To You\, Talking To Me is due February 9 on Vanguard Records.
  The record seems to pull more for vintage Southern influences than previo
 us releases\, incorporating sultry soul and old-time country into their el
 ectric guitar confessionals. A retreat to a Yosemite cabin for creating th
