 ngwriter and traditional musician Allison Williams plays old-time clawhamm
 er banjo in a modern context.  A native of the Arkansas Ozarks\, Allison g
 ot her start as a punk rock musician before rediscovering her musical root
 s. Several years in the mountains of North Carolina educated her in Southe
 rn banjo styles\, especially the fast\, distinctive styles of Hobart Smith
  and Wade Ward.  In 2005 she formed the Forge Mountain Diggers\, a hard-dr
 iving oldtime band\, with Freight Hoppers fiddler David Bass. The Diggers 
 toured internationally for three years\, sharing stages with the Grascals\
 , Uncle Earl\, Rhonda Vincent\, Donna the Buffalo\, and many other giants 
 of the new traditional music scene. Chance McCoy is a master in the art of
  mountain fiddling. The roots of his music reach all the way back to ancie
 nt Scotland\, Ireland and Africa\, blended through the melting pot of earl
 y America and distilled in the mountains for centuries into a unique music
  still being passed from one generation to the next. Hailing from West Vir
 ginia\, a state known for it's rich and long standing music tradition\, Ch
 ance is widely known for his powerful fiddling which has earned many blue
