 ee-part series. Departure From Shed consists of a video and sculpture cent
 ered around an open-ended narrative in which an astronomer\, played by Bas
 s\, recognizes an opportune time for he and his friends to flee an oppress
 ive situation and begin a new life. Working out of a shed\, the astronomer
  motivates his friends to labor diligently and retain their faith as they 
 prepare for the journey.  In a haze of notes and tones from an electric sy
 nthesizer and an incantatory voice-over that gently issues commands\, Bass
 's videos provide images of individuals striving for a better life and ste
