 stra premieres. American composer Richard Danielpour and poet Maya Angelou
  have based their new work\, A Woman's Life\, on the life and world of Ame
 rican soprano Angela Brown\, who appears as soloist for this Philadelphia 
 Orchestra co-commission. Opening the concert is Barber's witty School for 
 Scandal Overture\, inspired by an 18th-century comedy of manners\, which h
 ad its premiere in August 1933 at a concert at the Robin Hood Dell. One of
  several of Rachmaninoff's works that received world premieres by The Phil
 adelphia Orchestra\, the Third Symphony was first led by Leopold Stokowski
