 attractiveness of the black and white photograph is perhaps eternal. In th
 is course\, you will use modern photographic technologies to create images
  in the classic black and white style. Students will use their 35mm SLR di
 gital cameras in conjunction with Photoshop to create artistic images. Thi
 s is a class for beginners who want to learn photography from a digital pe
 rspective.  This class will run simultaneously with the Photographic Visio
 ns traditional darkroom class\, covering the same curriculum from a digita
 l perspective. Topics to be covered are techniques of proper exposure\, pr
 inciples of composition\, and understanding the use of lighting. Image pro
 cessing and printing will be done with the use of the computer and printer
 .  Like the Photographic Visions traditional darkroom class\, there will b
 e shooting trips as well as museum and gallery visits on some weekends. Al
 though these are not mandatory\, students are strongly encouraged to atten
