 to attain a basic knowledge of photography - from operating a 35mm manual 
 camera to basic darkroom practices. Topics will include techniques of prop
 er exposure\, the principles of composition\, and an understanding of ligh
 ting. Film processing and printing will be the emphasis throughout the cou
 rse.  While students will learn technical skills\, they are also encourage
 d to explore the aesthetics of photographic expression through assignments
  and slide lectures of contemporary and historical work.  In addition to i
 n-class meetings\, there will be optional shooting trips as well as museum
  and gallery visits on some weekends. Students are strongly encouraged to 
 attend these sessions.\n\nStart time: 10 am-1 pm
